A blog of politics from a proud Midwesterner, Christian, and Democrat.
I see nothing in that quote that supports your headline.
Holding up the BlackBerry, Holtz-Eakin proclaimed, "You're looking at the miracle John McCain helped create." I think it's pretty straightforward.
He was using his BlackBerry as a visual aid. At no point did he say John McCain created the BlackBerry. I know it makes for good copy, but it just ain't so.
Well then, was Holtz-Eakin the "miracle that John McCain helped create." Was the reporter looking at a picture of McCain's children, and so *they* were the miracle? What did the word "miracle" refer to, if not the BlackBerry?
Um....symblolism. He was referring to Telecom law. If he had an iPhone in is pocket he would have held that up. You really believe the McCain Camaign's strategy is to get people to believe he invented the BlackBerry?
WTB way to edit comments my typing sucks.
